Under the activated role of the Faculty of Science in community service and environment development, the faculty recieved Eng. Ahmed Helmy; Deputy of the Ministry of Agriculture for Fisheries in Alexandria on 30/12/2015. Eng. Helmy delivered a lecture under title of “Development methods of Fisheries in Egypt and obstacles” in the Green Hall in the faculty building in Moharam Bek at 10:30. The

lecture was attended by Prof. Dr. Alaa Eldin Ramadan; Faculty Deputy for Community Service and Environment Development in addition to faculty members and interested and specialized persons in this field.

Eng. Helmy talked about how to develop and improve Fisheries in Egypt and to reduce its obstacles. He stated that a new laws and regulations will be issued to enhance cooperation between ministries in addition to activating the laws that serve and protect the environment. He also presented past experiences of advanced countries in the field of aquaculture such as Turkey and Greece.

The attendants discussed how to develop the infrastructure of aquaculture and its technological and manual equipment with a view to reducing fish importing with large from abroad taking into consideration that most of Egypt borders are sea coasts.
