The Faculty of Science, Alexandria University will organize a conference entitled "Future vision to develop Faculties of Science" on Sunday, 13/9/2015 to present the vision of basic sciences section of the Supreme Council of Universities the submitted study to develop Faculties of Science. The study was submitted by the Committee on Science section and education experts in Egypt and includes the three main objective:

1. Development of Education and Students sector.

2. Development of Graduate Studies and Research sector and Teaching Staff Affairs.

3. Development of Community Service and the Environment Affairs sector.

 

The conference will also review the vision of the Syndicate of Scientific Professions of increasing the study duration in faculties of science to be five years instead of four years.

The conference will be held at 10 a.m. Ahmed Zewail Auditorium in El Shatby. Invitations was sent to companies, graduates, students, parents and teaching staff. 

Within its role in community service and environment development, the Faculty of Science - Alexandria University organized a training course entitled "Basics of ICDL" for a student group from Rotract Club in coordination with the Community Service Sector. The course aims to electronic literacy of 14 students from orphanages.

The course lasted for two weeks from 16-27/8/2015 in El Shatby building in Computer Unit. Mr. Islam Farid Mustafa; the Instructor of computer applications at Computer Unit delivered the material focusing on ICDL basics and its relevance and uses. At the end of the course, a closing ceremony was held to honor students and prizes were conferred in presence of Prof. Dr. Osama Abu Rawash,

Head of Mathematics and Computer Department and the work group of Computer Unit.

Alexandria Bibliotheca in collaboration with the Faculty of Science organized a training course entitled “E-education” on Sunday and Thursday in 30th and 3th of August 2015. The course was delivered by two instructors; the first is Ms. Basma El Masry who talked about presentation skills and Ms. Shahinaz Abdel Aziz who focused on electronic sources and basis of mining in data bases available in the library and identifying the terminology.​
